From December 10 to 13, 2024, the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activity of the SMERALD Project took place at the training room of the Institute for Educational Technologies (CNR ITD) in Palermo. The program focused on advanced training in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital technologies for educational innovation.
Day 1 – Kick-off and first explorations
The opening day launched an inspiring journey with sessions dedicated to exploring the potential of AI and technical tools. Participants experimented with AI technologies and data analysis, engaging in constructive discussions about the opportunities offered by digital solutions.

Day 2 – Deep dives and collaboration
The second day strengthened the focus on AI and data analysis tools. Through collaborative working groups, participants discussed innovative solutions and took part in practical sessions to share ideas and strategies for applying AI effectively in educational contexts.

Day 3 – Creativity and pitch preparation
On the third day, participants split into groups to refine their ideas using AI and data analysis tools. Collaborative work allowed them to improve projects through cross-group feedback and prepare thoroughly for the final pitch presentations. Innovation, creativity, and teamwork were the highlights of the day.

Day 4 – Final presentations and closing
After four days of productive training, the groups presented the results of their work and successfully completed the program. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants for their dedication and commitment. Special thanks to CNR ITD – Institute for Educational Technologies and our project coordinator, Davide Taibi, for providing exceptional hosting throughout this wonderful program.
